Roster Submission

Rosters should be submitted by email to southerncup@quidditchuk.org with the subject “ROSTER – <Team name>” by 31/10/17. Failure to do so will result in your team being unable to play at the tournament. All players on the roster will need to have purchased QuidditchUK membership before this date. Failure to do so will result in that player being unable to play at the tournament.

Tournament structure

21 teams will compete at Southern Cup 2017 for a chance to be crowned regional champions. The tournament will be split into two brackets, the Championship Bracket and the Consolation Bracket.

As in previous years, all teams at the tournament will be ranked 1-21 following the end of the group stage in order to determine in which bracket the team will compete. The Championship Bracket will have the top 10 teams from group play, with play-in matches for the bottom 4 teams (7th – 10th) from Day 1 to secure their space in the quarter-finals. The Consolation Bracket will feature the remaining 11 teams, with the 6 lowest ranking teams (16th – 21st) having to play knock-out games to reach the quarter-finals.

To guarantee a place at the British Quidditch Cup, teams must either reach the Championship Bracket or at least make it through to the semi-finals of the Consolation Bracket.
