QuidditchUK Development Cup Team Policy

The following requirements and restrictions will be applied to teams and players attending Development Cup.

  1. Ineligible Players
    1. Any players currently on the Team UK or Team Scotland Expansion Squads as at 29/2/19
      1. This includes National Team Expansion Players who transfer into Development Cup Teams mid-season.
      2. This includes National Team Expansion Players from the same club, but did not play for the team at either Southern and/or Northern Cup.
      3. Exceptions are allowed for players who competed with the same team at Southern or Northern Cup during the same season.
    2. Any players currently on Team UK or Team Scotland Training Squads as at 29/2/19
      1. This includes National Team Training Squad Players who transfer into Development Cup Teams mid-season.
      2. This includes National Team Training Squad Players from the same club, but did not play for the team at either Southern and/or Northern Cup.
      3. Exceptions are allowed for players who competed with the same team at Southern or Northern Cup during the same season.
    3. Any player who competed in any European or United Kingdom EQC qualifying tournament that season.
      1. This includes players from the same club who have been moved within teams between tournaments.
      2. This does not apply to players competing in teams at either Northern or Southern Cup, as these are not strictly EQC qualifying tournaments.
    4. Any players who competed for the following national teams at World Cup 2018 or European Games 2019 based on final rankings.
      1. Australia
      2. Belgium
      3. France
      4. Germany
      5. Italy
      6. Norway
      7. Spain
      8. Turkey
      9. United Kingdom
      10. United States
  2. Minimum Roster Policy
    1. All teams must fulfil the requirements of the QuidditchUK Minimum Roster Policy
    2. Teams unable to fulfil this policy are ineligible to compete at Development Cup
  3. Ineligible Teams
    1. Any team that qualified for the British Quidditch Cup at a QuidditchUK Regional Tournament
    2. Any team that qualified for the UK European Qualifier Tournament
    3. Any team not registered with QuidditchUK
    4. Any team registered with another NGB
      1. This excludes teams based in Northern Ireland who are permitted to compete in both QuidditchUK and Quidditch Ireland events.
  4. Auxiliary Players
    1. An auxiliary player is defined as someone who wishes to compete at Development Cup, but they are
      1. a player currently registered with a different QuidditchUK team OR 
      2. a player from another NGB recognised by the International Quidditch Association.
    2. An auxiliary player is not
      1. A player within the same club as the Development Cup team, who normally players for another team within the club.
      2. A player who is not currently registered with QuidditchUK or any other team from another NGB recognised by the International Quidditch Association.
      3. A player who has transferred into the team during the QuidditchUK Transfer Window.
      4. A player who has transferred into the team due to exceptional circumstances.
    3. For an auxiliary player to compete, all of the following requirements must be satisfied.
      1. The player does not breach any of the ineligible player rulings listed under Section 1.
      2. The player does not have any outstanding bans or suspensions against them.
        1. This includes players currently being investigated
      3. The team may only have 1 Auxiliary player for every 4 registered players.
  5. British Quidditch Cup Qualification
    1. Teams that medal in either First, Second or Third place at Development Cup will be given an unseeded spot in the British Quidditch Cup that season.
    2. Teams that utilise any Auxiliary players will be ineligible to receive a spot at the British Quidditch Cup.
      1. In scenarios where a team that utilised Auxiliary players place either first or second at Development Cup, the British Quidditch Cup spot will be given to the next eligible team in order of ranking.
    3. Any players that qualify for British Quidditch Cup may only compete at British Quidditch Cup with that qualifying team.
      1. For clubs with multiple teams attending BQC, a maximum of three players per team may play for a team within the same club that they did not represent at Development Cup.
    4. Players that do not qualify for British Quidditch Cup at Development Cup itself are ineligible to compete at British Quidditch Cup with any other team.
      1. For clubs with multiple teams attending BQC, a maximum of three players per team may play for a team within the same club that they did not represent at Development Cup.
