QuidditchUK Club Transfer Policy

The following requirements and restrictions will be applied to players wishing to transfer between clubs during the regular quidditch season.

Transfer Window

The QuidditchUK Transfer Window will be open from 10/12/18 until 20/01/19
– Any player currently registered with a QuidditchUK club may transfer to any other QuidditchUK club within this window for any reason.

The transfer must be requested by emailing development@quidditchuk.org with the following:
-Your current club
-Your intended transfer club
Your reason for transferring

Both club captains must acknowledge and approve the transfer in writing to QuidditchUK before the transfer is confirmed.

Transfers Outside of Transfer Window

Transfers requested outside of the Transfer Window must satisfy at least one of the following:
-The player has moved their home due to a change in their work/education, and can no longer train with their existing club.
-The player feels unsafe or is unable to train and/or compete with their current club.
-The player made a mistake during the initial QuidditchUK registration process.
The player wishes to transfer to a newly created club, AND can provide a significant attachment and/or reason for joining that justifies their transfer.

The transfer must be requested by emailing development@quidditchuk.org with the following:
-Your current club
-Your intended transfer club
Your reason for transferring

Both club captains must acknowledge and approve the transfer in writing to QuidditchUK before the transfer is confirmed.

Players that transfer into an EQC qualifying team may only compete at EQC with that team if:

-The player did not compete at the UK European Qualifier Tournament

-The player did not compete in any international EQC qualifying tournament.

Reviewing Transfer Requests

All requests for club transfers will be assessed by the Development Director before being approved.

In the case of a conflict of interest by the Development Director, the request may be reviewed by the following QuidditchUK volunteers in order:

-Development Department Assistant Director
-Human Resources Director
-QuidditchUK Vice President

-QuidditchUK President

Requests for a transfer outside of the Transfer Window are considered exceptional circumstances, and therefore are reviewed with far more scrutiny.

In certain exceptional circumstances, QuidditchUK may request further information from the player, including the following:
-Proof of change of address.
-Examples of attachment to the requested club.

Transfers between Club Teams

Movement between existing teams within the same club are not subject to QuidditchUK approval, and captains are free to move players between rosters as they choose.

Some limitations are put in place to ensure additional teams within clubs are not being bolstered by players for specific tournaments, as outlined in the following policies:

Development Cup Team Policy

European Qualifier Tournament Eligibility Policy

Accredited Events Roster Limitation Policy

International Transfers

Transfers between National Governing Bodies are subject to Quidditch Europe Policy, regardless of whether their original NGB is inside or outside of Europe.

Quidditch Europe Transfer Policy

-European Qualifier Tournament
-Any international EQC qualifying tournaments
-European Quidditch Cup
-Development Cup

International Transfers are requested by a player emailing development@quidditchuk.org and providing clear evidence they are now living in the area they wish to compete AND that they spend a significant amount of time physically with the club they wish to transfer to.

The player must provide QuidditchUK:
-Their current NGB
-Their current club
-Their intended club in the UK
-Their reason for transferring
-Proof of new address or education or work in the UK

Cases where international players are only in the UK for less than three weeks will not be approved.
